What does 'water resistant' really mean for shoes?Updated 6 months ago

Shoes labeled as 'water resistant' are designed to repel water to a certain extent but are NOT built with a fully waterproof membrane. A water resistant upper, after a period of constant exposure, or under certain conditions, may eventually allow water to soak or seep through to the interior of the shoe. Certain products will do well for short durations in the dew and will dry quickly but are not designed for prolonged exposure to wet conditions. There is no warranty on water-resistant shoes, so it's essential to clearly understand what level of protection you can expect when considering the best options for your use.
